Sports Illinois was formed as a collaborative effort to promote Illinois as a sports destination by providing sporting organizations with premier facilities and services for their state, regional and national sports events.

From amateur athletics to elite events like the World Cup, Breeders' Cup and US Open, Illinois attracts and maintains the best events at all levels of competition.

By combining the efforts of many convention and visitor bureaus and sports commissions from around the state, Sports Illinois is increasing marketing efforts and presence at key national trade shows and conferences. Our aim is to convey to national governing bodies and tournament directors that Illinois is a top-notch destination to host their next sports event.
